Short Form Video: Overall storyline February 9, 2010
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , add a commentI have put this overall storyline provisionally in chapters. Not a term used in video production much, as scripts are written in scenes)
But it shows you an overall storyline structure which you can explore and write your own episode within the structure. We will also need a title sequence and website design
Note: the right hand columns aren’t showing in this layout. I will try to reformat it later . Phil Peel

What is Short Form Video October 23, 2008
Posted by admin in : Short Form , add a commentShort Form video has quickly become a mainstream cultural phenomena and powerful marketing tool. Sites like Youtube, Daily Motion Google Videos, Vimeo and countless others have grown rapidly allowing anyone to upload video content. With a time limit of 10 minutes these sites provide short bite sized snatches of content that have proved very popular with younger people and adults alike. People no longer watch as much television as they used to and watching content on your PC, iPod or Mobile Phone has become part of peoples daily routines.
A recent survey by Frank N. Magid Associates July 2008 notes that:
- 50% of all respondents watch online video weekly.
- 11% of all respondents watch online video daily.
- 28% of those who watch online videos report watching less TV as a result.
- 19% of those who watch online videos report regularly sharing a link to a video with someone else.
The top-five most commonly viewed types of online video content, based on respondents reporting that they watch regularly, are:
- Comedy/jokes/bloopers (37%)
- Music videos (36%)
- Videos shot and uploaded by consumers (33%)
- News stories (31%)
- Movie previews (28%)
Short Form video has now become a recognised format and more and more the way people want to watch content. This means it is now easier than ever before to make and broadcast your video ideas to the world. In this unit you will investigate the short form format and produce a video for broadcast on line.
